Our client is a boutique CA firm with a loyal and diverse client base. Located in a handy Central Auckland location, the firm has established strong niche presence in the SME segment.
The practice has grown impressively over the past 25 years and boasts an impressive client list of a broad spectrum of entities operating across many industries. The majority of the firm’s clients are in the $5mil-$10mil annua turnover range although there are several clients with significantly higher revenues.
The team structure is relatively flat, and the culture can best be described as relaxed, flexible and supportive.
Our client is fully cloud-based and makes good use of modern technologies. The firm’s work environment is likely to appeal to candidates who prefer a quitter office where team members focus on getting things done and going home to spend more time with their family/friends/loved ones.
If you are into office Friday drinks, team pub events and are looking for a noisy office with a busy social and sporting calendar, this is not the right environment for you.
Sustained growth, current team dynamics and a new revenue stream resulting in increased workflow demands, have created the need for a senior business services accountant to join the team. This is a newly created role that requires the talents of a CA/CPA qualified accountant 4-5 years or more current (or recent) NZCA experience.
The role reports to the managing director and requires proven client servicing competencies and good grounding in financial accounting, management reporting and tax compliance. Our client is particularly interested in accomplished business services accountants with strong NZ tax knowledge and experience for this role.
The role has equity directorship potential for the aspiring in the long term. However, we would be keen to hear from suitably experienced professionals who don't necessarily have equity aspirations.
There is also the potential for the right candidate to step up into a newly created manager role in the medium term. However, if you are happy to stay at the senior accountant level long term, that is fine too.

Naturally, at this level you will possess excellent written and verbal communication and client-facing skills. Previous reviewing experience will be advantageous although is not strictly required for this role.
