Our client is an established boutique chartered accounting firm located north of Auckland. The practice has long history in CA arena and boasts a sizeable client base consisting of small to medium sized businesses. The industry mix of the firm’s clientele includes farming, property, investments and retail.
While our client works with businesses in other sectors as well, the ones listed above represent about 75% of all clients. The typical size of their clients is around $5million-$6million annual turnover, although they work with two or three business which turn over up to $20 million annually.
The firm has a team of 9, including the directors and offers a flexible and positive team-based environment. Current team dynamics and sustained growth have created the need for an accomplished senior business services professional to join our client’s team.
This is a hand-on role with strong client management focus that will suit a technically sound accounting professional with proven client-facing skills. Our ideal candidate will be able to work largely independently, without the need for much supervision or direction.
In this role, you will work alongside the directors and other team members, managing a portfolio of clients and the workflow associated with it. The key focus of the role is on preparation of year-end financial statements, periodic tax compliance and monthly and quarterly management reporting.
Your strong interpersonal/communication skills will be essential in this role as you will have a lot of client interaction (face-to-face, over-the-phone and by email) daily. The firm’s clients are used to popping in the office to say hi, have a coffee and a chat with their respective accountants.

We are looking for a CA or CPA qualified professional with a minimum of 4-5 years NZ CA experience in a similar role. This is a full-time permanent role although we are open to consider suitably qualified and experience candidates looking for a part time role as well. Perhaps you want to work 4-days per week or 5 days with reduced hours (9am-3pm for instance)? We can accommodate several options if that is an important consideration for your next role.
Salary indication: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum depending on experience.
The role offers a balanced work environment. All team members finish work at 5pm and are encouraged not to take work home. So, there is a well-defined separation of work and home life. This role is likely to appeal to professionals who live in or around the Warkworth area.
