Our client is a Waikato based high-performing company at the forefront of its industry. Over the years this iconic brand has become synonymous with innovation and business success in New Zealand.

Having worked with this organisation for a number of years we have observed their impressive growth (more than 75% in terms of annual turnover over the last 5-6 years!) first hand.

The company has an annual turnover in excess of $350 million and employs over 300 people in their various departments and locations.

The accounting team consists of 8 accounting professionals at various levels, although you will be part of a wider department (including finance, administration and IT) comprising of 12 professionals. 

Sustained growth and current team dynamics have created a rare opportunity for an articulate Financial  or a Management Accountant (or someone with experience in both) with a mix of well-developed technical competencies and experience in costing, management reporting and/or financial accounting in a manufacturing environment.

This Waikato based role will suit a self-driven accounting professional with an excellent ability to communicate clearly complex accounting and financial information to professionals across various levels and functional areas within the organisation. 

The successful candidate will work closely alongside other members of the accounting team and will report to the CFO.

This is a key role in the Accounting & Finance team, effectively supporting the entire accounting function and offering plenty of opportunities for professionally stimulating initiatives with huge potential impact on this high-performing company.

This is a truly unique opportunity in the sense that the role can be adjusted to a degree(with stronger financial or management accounting twist), depending on your skills and experience. 

Depending on your level of experience and seniority, the successful will have a relevant tertiary qualification and or CA/or CPA qualifications. Good working knowledge of and experience with JD Edwards, IBM Cognos  and advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be advantageous. 

Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential for this role.

Our client’s brief is broad and is designed to attract a wider pool of experienced Management Accountants – from the intermediate to senior management accountant level.

At the lower end of the range for this role, we are looking for a Management Accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years hands-on experience.

You are likely to be in the final stages of your professional studies towards a CA or CPA designation. (The company is an ATE and can assist with membership requirements for CAANZ).

For the upper end of the range, we are looking for an accomplished CA qualified senior financial accountant with a minimum of 4-5 years commercial experience. 

In this role you will need an excellent attention to detail and accuracy and high-level of energy.

Our client is looking for a pro-active and dynamic individual with a hands-on approach and desire to develop further professionally and broaden their technical scope.

The location is an easy drive from Hamilton and handy to a range of other locations in the Waikato area.
