This listing is not an active job vacancy. Our consultancy has been engaged by one of our long-standing clients to conduct a confidential, strategic search as part of the firm’s long‑term succession planning, team structure review, and future leadership strategy.

The firm is not seeking someone to take over an existing partner’s compliance portfolio at this stage. That may be on offer in the medium to long term (in 5 years possibly). This search is focused on identifying a future leader who can bring a meaningful fee base with them and integrate into the firm’s leadership structure over time.

 
About the Search
Our client is proactively exploring the market for a commercially strong business services leader who can contribute to the firm’s growth trajectory. 

This is a forward‑looking leadership search, not a vacancy created by turnover or immediate succession.

 
Fee‑base requirement (Important)
To ensure the role is commercially viable from day one, the successful candidate will need to bring a fee base of approximately $400k+.

This level is required to:

  • Ensure the role is self‑funding from the outset
  • Support a smooth integration into the firm’s structure
  • Align with the firm’s long‑term ownership and partnership model
  • (Please note that in the longer term - in 5+ years, there will be an opportunity for the right person to acquire a substantial addition equity)

  

What our client is looking for

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
  • A portable fee base of ~$400k+
  • Strong grounding in business advisory, financial reporting, and NZ tax
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to translate numbers into strategy
  • Proven ability to lead teams and nurture client relationships
  • Confidence in business development and organic growth
  • A leadership mindset aligned with long‑term partnership potential
