Jobs BAS Intermediate Accountant

Location: Auckland - Central/City fringe
Work Type: Permanent Full Time
Reference: SC12259

Our client is a modern professional services practice with long history in New Zealand and growing international presence. The firm’s impressive performance over the years has placed it among the preferred employers in the mid-market segment. This modern and constantly evolving organisation has traditionally appealed to professionals working within larger mid-tier and Big 4 firms.

The directors’ focus on investing in and developing their people is often singled out as one of the most important ingredients of the firm’s success.

In addition, they have been focused on building up and expanding  the consulting side of their offerings. As a result, the firm is one of the leading players in the value-add solutions space in their segment.

The firm has established a reputation for their high professional standards and the quality of their services. Their industry-leading systems and internal training and professional development programmes are second to none.

Sustained growth and steadily increasing demand for our client’s services have created the need for an articulate intermediate accountant to join their team. We are looking for a tertiary qualified business services professional with 2-3 years current NZ CA experience in the field.

Our ideal candidate will be studying towards their full CA or CPA designation or might even be close to completing their professional studies. The role will suit an outgoing individual who enjoys working as part of a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

This is a client-facing role, which will provide the successful candidate with variety and exposure to a broad spectrum of compliance and advisory projects.

You will work with sizeable SME businesses operating across a broad spectrum of industries. The typical annual turnover of your client will range from $1 million to $50 million with several businesses turning over more than $100 million annually. In this role you will be given early portfolio management responsibilities and unlimited potential to take on new responsibilities and advance your career at your own pace.

Some of your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Preparation of tax returns and various other IRD periodic forms and reports
  • Assisting with various accounting and tax issues affecting clients
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting and tax structuring projects
  • Assisting with various value-add assignments, involving due diligence, financial modelling, business valuations and other projects.

This role offers the benefits of working in a highly professional team environment with industry-leading career development and flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Flexible working hours, one day per week work-from-home and approachable and supportive directors are only some of the numerous benefits you will find at this award-winning firm.
