Jobs BAS Manager

Location: Auckland - Auckland Central
Work Type: Permanent Full Time
Reference: SC12705

About the Firm

Our client is a dynamic and well-established CA practice located in the heart of Central Auckland. With a diverse portfolio of SME clients across a wide range of industries, the firm offers the best of both worlds: the professional standards of a larger practice combined with the agility, warmth, and personality of a boutique environment.

The partners are approachable, forward-thinking, and committed to creating a workplace where people thrive. As the firm continues to expand, they are now seeking a capable BAS Manager (or a strong Supervisor ready for the next step) to join their close-knit team.

The Role

This is a hands-on, multi-dimensional position that blends workflow management, client advisory, and team leadership. You will take ownership of your own portfolio, manage client relationships, and oversee the work of two senior accountants.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and review of year-end financial statements
  • Overseeing periodic tax compliance (GST, PAYE, Income Tax, etc.)
  • Monthly management reporting and insights
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for your clients
  • Liaising with IRD, banks, lawyers, and other third parties
  • Contributing to value-add assignments including business planning, forecasting, due diligence, VCFO work, and other advisory projects
  • Supporting the ongoing development of team members
  • Various other ad hoc tasks that come with a well-rounded BAS leadership role

About You

You will be a CA or CPA qualified professional with at least 4–5 years’ experience in a New Zealand CA environment. You’ll bring strong technical grounding, sound judgement, and the confidence to manage client relationships with ease. This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in high-quality work, and thrives in a collaborative, people-focused environment.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary: $120,000 – $140,000, depending on experience + onsite car park
  • A friendly, sociable, and supportive team culture
  • Approachable partners who value your input
  • A central Auckland location with great amenities
  • Exposure to interesting, sizeable clients and genuine advisory work
  • Unlimited opportunities for professional growth as the firm continues to expand
