About you in this role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide clients, support your team, and contribute to the strategic direction of the practice. Expect variety, autonomy and the chance to make a visible impact.
Your focus will include:
Working directly with business owners to understand their challenges and design solutions that drive long-term performance
Providing well-reasoned advice across accounting standards, tax compliance and broader commercial matters
Interpreting financial information to uncover insights and opportunities for clients
Advising on tax structures and obligations including trusts, groups, FBT, GST, PAYE and other indirect taxes
Leading engagements from scoping through to final review, ensuring quality and consistency
Tackling complex issues with sound judgement and escalating where appropriate
Communicating technical concepts in a clear, confident and accessible way
Coaching and developing team members to lift capability and foster a strong BAS culture
What our client is looking for
This role will suit someone who combines technical strength with commercial instinct. Someone who enjoys working closely with clients and mentoring others.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
At least 5+ years’ NZ experience in a CA environment within business advisory
A solid accounting foundation and full CA or CPA qualification
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate numbers into meaningful advice
Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders
