Jobs BAS Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager

Location: Auckland - North Shore
Work Type: Permanent Full Time
Reference: SC12650

About you

You are CA or CPA qualified senior accountant or assistant manager with sound background in business advisory services in a multi-partner firm. You have supervisory experience and well-developed client-servicing experience. Your technical skills are equally strong in financial and management reporting and tax compliance. You may even have some consulting projects under the belt.

You are likely to be working in a sizeable mid-tier or a Big 4 firm in the city and would benefit from a move closer to home on Auckland's North Shore.

You are looking for a firm that can provide you with industry-leading professional development and unlimited potential to advance your career all the way to a director level in the longer term.

Alternatively, if becoming a director in the future is not your ultimate career goal, you are looking for a great long-term role with a reputable brand built on strong values. A firm that is widely recognised as an employer of choice.

If any of the above statements describes you, then this opportunity deserves your serious consideration.

About the firm

Our client has strong values, and their business philosophy can best be described as people centric. The firm has a long history of investing in the development and professional growth of the people working here.

Their positive team-based culture is conducive to high professional standards and career development opportunities that are among the most attractive in the sector.

The people working here are the best ambassadors for this modern and constantly evolving organisation. The feedback from the candidates we have placed here over the years has suggested that the firm has consistently offered top-notch internal and external training and management support.

The diverse clientele means that all professionals working in the firm get to work on a wide range of client engagements, from the traditional client accounting and tax compliance services to special projects involving business improvement, valuations, financial modelling, due diligence and other value-add assignments.

The directors are commercially savvy with leading expertise in their segment of the professional services sector. The firm boasts one of the lowest staff turnover rates in the industry. An indicator, which fully reflects the firm's reputation for high professional standards and employee satisfaction rates.

About this opportunity

This role is based in a handy North Shore location with on-site parking and easy access to motorways. This is a viable career development alternative to a similar role within a big 4 or a larger mid-tier firm in the city.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities include:

  • financial reporting
  • management reporting
  • tax compliance/tax planning/advisory
  • client relationship management
  • assisting clients with strategic planning
  • advising clients on a wide range of accounting, tax, software and wider business issues
  • working closely alongside and supporting the directors in the firm on a range of strategic and operational initiatives

Your client list will include sizeable SME's across most industry sectors with typical annual turnover ranging between $5 million and $50 million with some of the largest groups exceeding $100 million in annual turnover. While this role offers impressive complexity and work scope, the culture and the team structure will appeal to candidates looking for a less corporate environment.

Over time, the role is envisioned to evolve and offer an even broader technical scope and exposure to projects involving financial modelling, business valuations, due diligence and others.

So, if you are looking for a location closer to home that will provide you with that illusive work-life balance without having to compromise on your technical stimulation, professional development and career progression, this role deserves your full attention.
