This is a senior in‑house finance role within a growing international accounting firm with a strong presence across New Zealand and Australasia. This position is based in the firm's Auckland CBD office. The role has full responsibility for the accounting and finance function and offers broad oversight across financial reporting, management reporting, and leadership of core finance processes.
About the opportunity
This is a hands‑on Finance Manager role reporting directly to the CFO based in Australia. You’ll take ownership of the firm’s financial and management reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clarity across all internal and external deliverables. In this role, you will have support with day‑to‑day accounting and administrative tasks covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general admin and other accounts tasks, allowing you to focus on higher‑level financial control and commercial insight.
Key areas of responsibility
- Lead financial reporting and management reporting for the New Zealand business
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance across all reporting cycles
- Provide commercial insight and support to senior leadership
- Oversee and guide accounts/admin staff responsible for AP/AR and transactional processing
- Partner with the CFO in Australia on planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency across the finance function
About the successful candidate
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller
- Strong technical capability across financial and management reporting
- Confidence operating in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment
- Ability to lead, review, and support junior finance staff
- Clear communication skills and a proactive, organised working style
Experience in an in-house role in a professional services environment would be advantageous for this role.
