This is an opportunity with a highly respected international accounting network. The firm is looking to appoint an experienced BAS Manager for their North Shore office. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role within a firm known for its strong employer brand, client relationships, collaborative culture and commitment to developing its people.
The opportunity
This position sits within a high-performing advisory team that supports a broad mix of privately owned businesses, investment groups and emerging enterprises. You’ll take ownership of client relationships, lead engagements end‑to‑end and provide commercially grounded advice that helps clients make confident decisions.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values autonomy and wants to contribute to a team that genuinely works together to deliver exceptional outcomes.
What you will be doing
- Guiding clients through business challenges and growth opportunities, offering practical, strategic recommendations
- Providing technically sound advice across accounting standards, compliance requirements and tax matters
- Reviewing financial statements, management reports and tax work to ensure accuracy and insight
- Advising on a wide range of tax considerations including FBT, GST, PAYE, group structures, trusts and other indirect taxes
- Leading and reviewing medium to large engagements, and completing final reviews for smaller assignments
- Supporting team members through coaching, feedback and day‑to‑day leadership
- Communicating complex information in a clear, confident and solutions‑focused manner
About the successful candidate
We’re looking for a commercially minded professional who enjoys working closely with clients and mentoring others. Ideally, you will have:
- 5+ years’ experience in business advisory within a New Zealand CA environment
- A strong accounting foundation and progress toward (or completion of) CA qualification
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
- Strong technical capability and the confidence to tackle complex issues
