About our client
This is a newly created role with one of our long-standing clients, a large accounting firm with influential global presence. The firm has long-history in the New Zealand market and we have recruited top talent for them for the best part of the last 25 years. The firm's Auckland CBD is expanding its business services offering. As part of this sustained growth, our client is looking for an accomplished senior business advisory professional to join their team.
About the role
You will be part of a team that helps businesses understand their financial position, navigate challenges, and plan for the future. Your work will involve a blend of compliance, reporting, and advisory tasks, giving you exposure to a wide range of commercial situations.
This role will suit someone who enjoys variety. One day you may be preparing financial statements, and the next you will be helping a client interpret their performance or consider a new opportunity. Strong communication and the ability to build trust are just as important as technical skill.
Your main responsibilities
Preparing year‑end accounts and ensuring reporting aligns with relevant standards
Producing management reports, budgets, and cash flow projections
Completing tax compliance work and spotting opportunities for clients to improve their tax position
Providing insights that help clients strengthen their operations and plan for growth
Supporting clients with software adoption, filing requirements, and trust‑related matters
About you
You are someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to continue building a career in business advisory. To be successful in this role, you will need:
CA (CAANZ), CPA (Australia) or ACCA membership
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients
Commercial awareness, detail‑driven approach
The ability to stay composed and effective in a busy environment
Proven ability to work well as part of a team and interact with clients on a daily basis
