The firm

We have two new openings with one of our clients in Central Auckland. The firm's successful history spans more than two and half decades and is growing at double-digit numbers. Naturally with growth comes an unlimited potential for business services professionals to advance their careers at their own pace.

 

What we are looking for

Our client has capacity for two professionals:

1.      a strong intermediate business services accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years current NZ CA experience in the field. Our ideal candidate for this role will be in the final stage of their CA or CPA qualifications or may even be recently qualified.

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience

2.      an accomplished senior accountant with at least 4-5 years current or recent NZ CA experience in business services. CA or CPA qualifications are essential for this role.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience 

 

The roles

These are client-facing roles, and the successful candidates will gradually take full responsibilities for a portfolio of clients. 

Therefore, experience in all aspects of client accounting, tax compliance and business advisory, as well as impeccable English and client-facing skills are crucial for these roles.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities for both roles include but are not limited to:

  • - preparation of year-end financial statements
    - periodic tax compliance (tax returns, including GST, PAYE, Income Tax etc.)
    - monthly management reporting
    - business planning, forecasting, due diligence, special purpose reporting
    - acting as a first point of contact advisory to a wide range of clients (on a range of accounting, tax and systems issues)
    - liaising with Inland Revenue, Lawyers, Banks and other third parties on behalf of your clients
    - various ad hoc high-end compliance and value-add projects

Ideally, our client is looking for business services professionals with solid grounding in compliance. For the more senior role, previous experience with value-add projects involving budgeting, cashflow forecasting, valuations, business planning and due diligence would be highly advantageous.  

Both roles require strong compliance experience and offer an excellent potential for the right candidate to expand into consulting work in the future.  

Strong Excel skills and ability to create bespoke worksheets will be highly relevant for the more senior role.

Both roles require good working knowledge of Xero/XPA.
