Our client is a well-established professional services firm with long history in a niche segment of the accounting, tax and business advisory arena. The firm has an impressive client list consisting of sizeable and complex businesses, many of them multi- entity group structures across various industry sectors. The firm is widely recognised for their leading expertise in certain technical areas. 

Sustained growth and internal team dynamics have created the opportunity for a competent senior accountant or a client manager to join this friendly close-knit team.

This is a newly created role that offers broad scope and high level of technical complexity and will suit a hands-on professional who is happy to do a little bit of everything. In addition to the usual preparation of financial statements and tax returns, your focus will be on advising clients on a wide range of accounting, tax and business issues. 

You will work closely with a section of key clients (including high-net-worth individuals with multiple businesses) providing them with advice on  business improvement, tax minimisation, structuring, business planning, strategy and various areas. 

We are looking for a CA (CAANZ) qualified senior accountant with:

  • a minimum of 5-6 years current or recent NZ CA experience
  • sound hands-on experience with preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns.
  • proven client-facing experience
  • excellent time management skills 
  • strong workflow management skills
  • proven ability to manage projects with conflicting priorities 
  • proven track record as team player 
  • proven ability to work unsupervised 
  • outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Good, up-to-date knowledge of New Zealand tax and interest in the taxation area is essential. Our client uses MYOB Accountants Office, MYOB Accountants Enterprises and Microsoft XP. Our ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of Xero and MYOB products.
