About the firm

Our client has a small team of accountants mostly at junior to intermediate level. Located in a prime Auckland location, the firm makes good use of modern technology.

The firm offers regular seminars, team lunches and other events aimed at building and maintaining a team spirit within a close-knit environment.

The firm's clients come from a range of industries with the largest group entities turning over more than $60 million annually and other managing portfolios of assets in excess of $100 million. This means exposure to technically complex client assignments.

Depending on the skills and experience of the appointed candidate (and as the practice is continuing to grow) , the role is likely to evolve to incorporate a wider range of managerial responsibilities.

As the most senior person udder the Director, you will be given the opportunity to step up in to a more senior role to:

  1. increase the technical competencies/capabilities of our client's team, and

  • Preparation of year-end financial statements

This is a busy, multi-faceted role that will provide you with good opportunities to broaden your technical scope in the medium to long term.

About you

The successful candidate will be, ideally, CA or CPA qualified or qualified by experience. It is important to point out that this is the most senior role under the Practice Director and requires a minimum of 4-5 years solid hands-on experience in a client-facing role.

Extensive reviewing experience in a CA environment is a must!

You will have well-rounded skills and experience with preparation of year-end financial accounts, tax compliance and monthly reporting.

Previous exposure to IFRS reporting and advisory work (and specifically business valuations) would be considered advantageous, although is not strictly required.
