Our client is a high-profile multi-partner professional accounting, audit, tax and business advisory services firm with impeccable reputation and impressive performance. The firm boasts a sizable and diverse client base and is widely recognised for their high-professional standards.

Sustained growth and internal team dynamics have created the need for an accomplished Tax Associate/Director to join the firm. The firm has experienced impressive growth over several years. A growth which has continued to accelerate through the Covid crisis.

This is a multi-faceted in which you will head up the small but growing tax are in the firm. Some of the key requirements in terms of experience and technical competencies include but are not limited to:

  • significant tax advisory experience across a broad range of taxes
  • ability to analyse and interpret tax legislation, case law, IRD rulings and statements
  • experience with interpretation and application of double tax agreements
  • experience with international tax rulings and familiarity with international tax issues
  • ability to find solutions and provide advice on tax issues in a client-centric format
  • proven presentation and report writing skills and experience 
  • sound grounding in both tax consulting and compliance 
  • experience with/or interest (developing further) in/ business development skills 

Previous team and client relationship management experience is essential. At this level, you will be able to quickly take ownership of a portfolio of clients while capitalising on opportunities to develop new business.

Naturally, at this level you will have full CA/CPA qualifications. The role is envisaged to lead to equity directorship. The successful candidate for this key leadership role is likely to be:

  • a strong Senior Manager/Associate director looking to step up in to a Director role in the short to medium term, or
  • an accomplished Director looking for an autonomous role that offers full freedom to develop strategies, manage and grow the Tax practice in the firm

This is a Christchurch-based role, which will require the appointed candidate to be based in Christchurch. We welcome enquiries from professionals from other parts of the country.
