Our client is a dynamic firm that is experiencing impressive growth. Based in a prime Central Auckland/city fringe location this forward-thinking practice has a sizeable and diverse client base.
Sustained growth, new opportunities for further expansion and team dynamics have created a new opening for an accomplished senior accountant or a manager to join one if their close-knit team.
The firm is innovative and takes pride in the quality of service offered to their clientele. Professional standards and quality of service, which no doubt have contributed to the impressive growth the firm has experienced over several years.
We are looking for an articulate business services professional with current or recent NZ CA experience in the field. This is a client-facing role, and the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to take ownership and responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients.
Therefore, your good grounding in all aspects of client accounting, tax compliance and advisory is essential just like your impeccable communication and client-facing skills.
Some of the main duties and responsibilities on our client’s job brief include but are not limited to:
- preparation of year-end financial statements
- periodic tax compliance (tax returns, including GST, PAYE, Income Tax etc.)
- monthly management reporting
- business planning, forecasting, due diligence
- special purpose reporting
- acting as a first point of contact advisory to a wide range of clients (on a range of accounting, tax and systems issues)
- liaising with Inland Revenue, Lawyers, Banks and other third parties on behalf of your clients
- various ad hoc value-add client assignments
Naturally at this level, you will be CA or CPA qualified and have at least 4-5 years business services experience.

Due to the broad client brief for this role, we are interested in hearing from a wider pool of potentially suitable candidates - from high-end senior accountants to strong managers.
At the top end of the brief for this role, we are looking for an accomplished manager with proven reviewing and team management skills. At this level, it is important that you have experience with value-add projects such cashflow forecasting, business planning and due diligence.
At the lower end of our brief for this role, we would like to hear from strong senior accountants with solid experience in client accounting and tax compliance, proven client-facing competencies and desire to learn and develop advisory skills and experience.
Salary range: $90,000 - $145,000 per year depending on seniority and experience.
