Our client, a strong brand in the SME segment of the CA arena, is looking for a motivated Accountant to join a newly established specialist team delivering high‑quality management accounting, reporting, forecasting, and advisory support to a diverse portfolio of clients.
This role is ideal for an accountant with 3–4 years’ experience who enjoys working closely with clients, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is looking to build a career in management accounting and forward‑looking advisory work.
About the role
As part of a newly established team in the firm with focus on management reporting, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and proactive management accounting services. Your work will directly support client decision‑making and help strengthen long‑term advisory relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing management reporting schedules, statutory data extracts, and period‑end close inputs ("Prepare management reporting schedules and statutory data extracts… to support period-end close and decision-making.")
- Drafting and finalising monthly, bi‑monthly, or quarterly management accounts ("Draft management accounts prepared within the agreed reporting cycle to enable timely internal review and client reporting.")
- Producing reporting packs, including commentary on key movements
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing coaching
- Supporting budgets, cashflow forecasts, and scenario modelling ("Prepare or support budgets, cashflow forecasts, and scenario models to inform management decisions.")
- Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and finance system support (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, Smartly)
- Contributing to advisory assignments through data analysis, variance analysis, and identifying trends or risks ("Proactive analysis of client data to identify trends and issues.")
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be trusted to manage workflow, meet deadlines, and deliver high‑quality outputs that clients rely on.
What we are looking for
- 3–4 years’ experience in accounting (CA firm experience advantageous)
- Strong interest in management accounting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
- Confident communicator — comfortable engaging with clients by phone and in person
- Solid technical grounding with strong attention to detail
- Someone proactive, organised, and eager to grow ("Demonstrate sound organisational and administrative skills… proactive and eager to make a positive difference.")
