This mid-sized firm is growing, and we are looking for a technically strong Senior Accountant to join their Business Advisory Services team in Auckland. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys complex work, thrives in a high‑standards environment, and wants to deepen their IFRS capability while working closely with partners and senior leaders.
What you will so
- Prepare and review financial statements in line with NZ IFRS, including complex entity structures.
- Complete accounting and tax assignments efficiently, accurately and within budget.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and help resolve complex reporting issues.
- Review periodic tax returns prepared by Intermediates and Graduates.
- Support clients with forecasting, variance analysis, strategic planning sessions and wider advisory work.
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to add value.
- Contribute to firm‑wide projects that improve systems, processes and client experience.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy and high professional standards at all times.
What we are looking for
- 4 + years’ experience in a New Zealand CA environment.
- Good IFRS knowledge and confidence applying reporting standards.
- CA / CPA qualified or close to completion.
- A hands-on accountant who can work largely independently
- Strong workpaper discipline, technical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Someone who enjoys client interaction and can spot opportunities to help them grow.
- A team player who contributes positively to culture and supports junior staff.
