This opportunity is with one of our long-standing clients in the CA sector in Auckland. The firm has long and successful history in the mid-market segment of the CA sector in New Zealand and, through its international association, growing overseas presence. We have been a preferred supplier of recruitment and talent sourcing services to this mid-sized firm for more than 20 years.
Due to team dynamics and new emerging business opportunities, the opportunity has arisen for an accomplished chartered accountant with solid grounding in client accounting and tax to join the firm in a newly created role. This is a dual client adviser role which works across the Private Wealth team and the newly established China Desk in the firm.
The Business Services/China desk side of the role will see the successful candidate actively involved in the development of the of our client’s China Desk. This newly established line of service is envisaged to be a link between the Chinese clients and the various other lines within the firm.
In this role, you will support NZ clients seeking to expand into the Chinese market. In addition, you will be responsible for connecting clients with the appropriate professionals within the firm in New Zealand as its international network. As part of that process, you will assign and delegate tasks to the most suitable team members within the firm. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all aspects of the client’s accounting needs are efficiently addressed.
On the Private Wealth & International Tax side of the role, your focus will be on complex accounting and tax issues, such as FIF transactions, international tax requirements, and the preparation of accounts for individuals, companies, trusts, and other entities. You will provide advice on complex tax issues related to tax residency, among other things.
We are looking for a CA/CPA qualified or nearly qualified professional with experience in the above-mentioned technical areas. A minimum of 3-4 years current or recent NZ CA experience is essential for this role.
