This is a newly registered exclusive career opportunity with one of our longest-standing clients in the Chartered Accounting sector in Auckland. The firm is well established and is entering a new stage of its development. 

The practice makes good use of technology and has a relatively flat structure, although it has a lot to offer to career-minded professionals willing to advance their career and take on more responsibilities.

 

About the role

This is a newly created role in response to current team dynamics and will appeal to a strong intermediate to early senior accountant looking for a new challenge. The role is client-facing and with focus on compliance assignments initially. 

You will work with a wide range of SME clients, assisting the partners in the firm with some of the most complex assignments and managing the workflow for a group of key entities. 

You will be working closely alongside the partners and client managers in the firm. 

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • preparation of year-end financial statements
  • periodic tax compliance
  • communicating complex accounting, business, and tax information to clients
  • developing and applying commercial understanding of businesses and key performance indicators
  • train and advise clients on accounting software packages
  • various ad hoc duties and responsibilities
     

About you

We are looking for an articulate business services accountant with client-facing experience . Our ideal candidate will have all or most of the following: 

  • a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • a minimum of 2-3 years’ NZCA experience in business services
  • provisional CAANZ membership (our ideal candidate will be close to completing CA studies)
  • good working knowledge of Xero and Excel experience
  • good up-to-date knowledge of NZ tax legislation
  • previous experience with XPM would be advantageous
  • proven time management skills
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to build long standing relationships with clients
