Our client is a mid-sized chartered accounting firm with long history in New Zealand and international connections. The firm boasts one of the lowest staff turnover rates in the sector and offers industry-leading professional development opportunities.

This forward-thinking organisation is widely recognised for their award-winning culture. The firm offers flexibility in a structured work environment. Our client has built a highly successful business model on strong values that are reflective of the firm’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Their unique team culture is conducive to personal growth and professional development while recognising the need for work-life balance and flexibility.

Due to sustained growth and current team dynamics within one of their business services teams, the opportunity has arisen for an articulate business services accountant to join one of their offices in Auckland.

The focus of the role is on preparation of financial statements, tax returns, cashflow forecasting and budgeting. Over the years, the firm has developed strong focus on adding value to their clients’ businesses and successful candidate will gain increasing exposure to high-end advisory projects for some of the larger and more complex clients.

In this role, you will work with a broad spectrum of SME businesses operating across most industry sectors. Many of the firm's clients have complex group structures and are at the forefront of their respective industries.

We are looking for a CA or CPA qualified (or nearly qualified) business services accountant with at least 3-4 or more years current NZ CA experience in the field.

The role has strong client focus, and our client is seeking an articulate professional with proven client-facing competencies and experience. Your ability to work largely independently will be essential for this newly created role.

Our ideal candidate will possess good working knowledge of Xero. You will have proven problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and resolve complex problems. This role will suit a team player who will be able to pass their knowledge and share their skills with junior members of the team.

The role may appeal to a mid-tier or a Big 4 firm professional looking for a change of scenery and a firm that offers more autonomy and unlimited potential for career growth at one’s own pace. Alternatively, you may be working in a small to medium sized firm and looking for a change of scenery and exposure to clients and industries and better professional development.

The varied client base together with the broad technical scope and complexity of work here mean that you will strengthen your technical competencies and develop further your skills and experience without any limitations. The firm has a history of internal promotions from intermediate accountant level all the way to equity directorship.

In return for your skills, experience and long-term commitment to your career in the CA sector, our client will offer you an above-market remuneration package that consists of a generous base salary, and various other benefits. If you still have an outstanding amount on your bond for your CA studies, we are happy to discuss this further with you.
