Our client is a well-established Chartered Accounting firm, often described as one of the Employers of Choice in the sector. The firm has a long and successful history but that does not mean that they are stuck in the past.

The firm has traditionally attracted high-calibre business advisory professionals from top-tier firms. With impressively low staff turnover rates and an award-winning organisational culture, the firm has been a popular choice for many accounting professionals over the years.

As part of this process our client has identified an opportunity for a technically well-rounded senior professional with current Big 4 or mid-tier experience to join their team.

We are looking for a CA or CPA qualified senior accountant with a minimum of 3-4 years NZ CA experience in Business Advisory within a larger firm.

Previous experience or exposure to IFRS reporting is essential for this role.

At this level, you will have sound grounding in statutory reporting and compliance and well-rounded technical competencies and experience across all areas within business services.

The successful candidate for this role will have proven client-servicing skills.

Some of the main duties and responsibilities defining this role include:

  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Preparation of periodic Tax returns
  • Tax planning
  • Monthly/quarterly accounts
  • Acting as a first point of contact for your clients
  • Building and managing relationships with clients
  • KPI reporting and financial analysis
