Our client is a vibrant md-sized accounting and business advisory firm located in the heart of Auckland city. The practice is well-established and has a diverse client base ranging from small and medium entrepreneurial business to sizable enterprises with complex group structures.
Die to the diverse nature and the size and complexity of many of the firm’s clients, they offer a broad spectrum of services – from statutory reporting and tax compliance to insolvency, corporate finance and high-level advisory.
Due to current team dynamics and sustained growth in the value-add line of their offerings, we are looking for an accomplished senior professional with extensive experience with:
- Business valuations
- Financial modelling
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Cashflow analysis
- The wider client advisory area
We are interested in hearing from two groups of potentially suitable candidates for this role:
1. Business Advisory Senior Accountants/Client Managers with substantial previous exposure to value-add assignments involving the above-mentioned areas (and particularly business valuations and financial modelling). This opportunity will suit a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional who is keen to movie into a purely advisory/corporate finance type role.
2. Corporate Finance professionals with experience in the above-mentioned areas (especially business valuations and financial modelling) who are looking for a change of scenery, a more autonomous role and a higher earning potential, without compromising on work-life balance. You may be CFA qualified or hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or similar. Good understanding of accounting principles and particularly Balance Sheet is essential for professionals with CFA qualifications and CF experience.
In addition to the above selection criteria, or ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong client relationship management skills
- High level of motivation and proven professionalism in dealings with clients
- Understanding of technology and its role in a modern accounting and advisory practice
- The ability to work in a strongly collaborative environment
- Organisational, time and workflow management skills
Experience in a client-facing role in a professional services environment is essential for this role. Our client is open to consider professionals with relevant current experience in audit or banking as well. Good working knowledge of Xero and strong financial modelling and analytical skills are equally important.
Our client is looking for an articulate professional, a lateral thinker and problem-solver. The role will suit a proactive, forward-focused thinker with an ability to identify issues and ways to improve consistently.

Remuneration: $110,000 - $140,000 per year depending on experience and seniority.
