The opportunity

Our client’s brief is intentionally broad to attract Senior Accountants as well as Assistant Managers with NZ IFRS experience. The salary range reflects this flexibility. Below is a brief outline of the role and the levels being considered.

Senior Accountant level:

  • 4+ years’ BAS experience in a New Zealand CA environment.
  • Good working knowledge of NZ IFRS and confidence applying reporting standards.
  • CA / CPA qualified or close to completion.
  • Hands‑on, accurate, and able to run assignments with some supervision.
  • Strong workpaper discipline, attention to detail and technical accuracy.
  • Someone who enjoys client interaction and can spot opportunities to add value.

Assistant Manager level:

  • 5–8 years’ BAS experience in a New Zealand CA firm.
  • CA / CPA qualified with strong NZ IFRS technical capability.
  • Proven experience leading jobs, reviewing work and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver value‑add advisory insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.

Here’s why we believe this firm is an excellent place to build your career:

  • Work with a respected, high‑performing BAS team with strong technical capability.
  • Exposure to complex clients, advisory work and cross‑service collaboration.
  • Genuine leadership exposure and clear progression opportunities.
  • Central Auckland location, modern environment and supportive senior leadership.
  • A culture that values professionalism, continuous learning and making a positive impact.

If you’re looking for a role that will further hone and strengthen your technical competencies, build your IFRS capability further and provide you with professionally stimulating client exposure, this is an excellent opportunity.

It is important to point out that this role is not solely focused on IFRS. It offers a balanced mix of client accounting, management reporting, and advisory work, with IFRS forming one component of a broader BAS portfolio.
