A modern Auckland practice is looking for a capable leader to take ownership of core delivery functions across the team, workflow and tax. This is a role for someone who wants to operate with autonomy, work with highly successful SME clients with focus on quality.
In this role you will guide, support and develop a small team setting the standard for quality.
You will manage workflow consisting of high-end client projects and keeping jobs moving, prioritised and delivered on time.
Another aspect of this multi-faceted role will see you involved in running the tax function end‑to‑end, ensuring obligations and IRD deadlines are met accurately.
Ideally, we are looking for an accomplished manager although the role will also suit a strong assistant manager ready to step up.
Your responsibilities
- Leading and developing the team, and managing workflow across the practice
- Owning the tax function including deadlines, obligations and IRD compliance
- Reviewing work to a high standard; quality control is central to this role
- Overseeing annual accounts, GST, tax, management reporting and forecasting
- Staying connected with clients throughout delivery
- Getting involved in a range of advisory projects
About the successful candidate
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a NZ CA environment
- CA or CPA qualified (or well progressed)
- Strong review capability — quality control is essential
- Solid grounding in NZ tax, GST and financial statements
- High accuracy standards and the confidence to uphold them
- Ability to work independently and keep workflow on track
- Experience with Xero and XPM (or similar)
