Our client is a dynamic, fast-growing professional services firm. The firm is led by commercially savvy partners, widely recognised for their business acumen and technical expertise in the business advisory area.

The firm is a leader in their segment of the SME market and the partners' business philosophy is based firmly on adding value to their clients.

This business model has proved to be a success and is one of the main contributing factors to the firm's sustained growth over the last few years.

The opportunity has arisen for a CA qualified managerial professional with a minimum of 6-7 years current NZ CA experience within a reputable professional services firm to join our client in a key Manager role.  

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior management team in the practice.

Therefore, the role requires a mix of technical competencies and attributes, including sound grounding in all aspects of statutory reporting, tax compliance, management reporting and business advisory.

This is a varied role and some of the main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients
  • Overseeing compliance workflow
  • Reviewing and supervising a team of 4-5 intermediate and senior accountants
  • Supporting the partners in the delivery of high-end advisory projects
  • Various ad hoc responsibilities

The role will suit an articulate, self-driven professional with outstanding people management and client servicing competencies.

Our client is looking for an established people manager with a minimum of 3-4 years experience in a manager role (and a minimum of 7-8 years in a CA environment in total).

This is a key role within the management team and our client has identified the following essential competency areas:

  • Successful track record with establishing and nourishing/managing positive working relationships with clients
  • Ability to deliver a consistently high quality of service to all clients
  • Ability to identify opportunities to add value to clients
  • Proven ability to communicate in an effective and clear manner with clients or various functional and industry backgrounds
  • Experience with managing a small/medium size team, including reviewing, mentoring, guiding professionals at various levels
  • Positive attitude, results oriented approach to work and ability to show initiative and take responsibility
  • Ability to adapt to and manage change
  • Proven ability to prioritise, organise and meet deadlines (personal and team targets)
  • Strong ability to motivate and inspire people and lead by example
