Our client is a highly regarded Chartered Accounting firm based in a handy Central Auckland/city fringe location. The practice has an increasing share of their segment of the SME market.  

Due to growth and evolving team structure, we have an opportunity for an articulate senior business services accountant with well-rounded technical competences to join this friendly and supportive team.  

We are looking for an accomplished professional with a minimum of 3-4 years current or recent experience in client accounting and tax compliance. 

Your solid hands-on experience in preparation of financial statements, management accounts and tax returns will be essential in this role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and will work with some of the firm's larger and more complex clients.

Your client will come from a range of industries, including:

• property
• investments
• construction
• retail
• manufacturing and others..

This is a varied role and some of the main duties and responsibilities include:

• Preparation of financial statements
• Monthly/management reporting
• Tax compliance (filing various tax returns such as Income Tax, GST, PAYE, FBT etc.)
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Advising and assisting clients with various systems issues/training/trouble shooting, etc
• Assisting the partners with a range of value-add projects
• Various other ad hoc duties and responsibilities

At this level you will be CA or CPA qualified and possess excellent systems skills, including good working knowledge of Xero, Excel and other accounting software packages and programs. 

Our client has a relatively flat structure and offers a flexible, friendly and positive tam environment. 

It is essential that you are able to work independently (without the need for much supervision) within a high-performing team.

The role offers a good variety of compliance and advisory projects and will have an extra appeal to a professional with solid foundations in compliance and looking for more exposure to value-add work.
